Fellowship Actions Impacting the Habitat

The FAITH program is an effort through the N.C. Wildlife Federation to improve wildlife habitat on the church grounds. We initiated the program here at FPCOG on April 19, 2008 with a butterfly garden.  Look below for pictures of our projects, ways you can help, and fun wildlife facts.

Are you wondering how to water your garden if we
 have another drought?

It is a common belief in many parts of the world that water is an infinite resource to exploit as needed, but as the saying goes, "you don’t know the value of water until the well is running dry."  In many communities we are drawing out more water than our sources naturally receive to recharge it.

Collecting rainwater for use during dry months in rain barrels or other depositories is an ancient and traditional practice.  If you are interested in collecting you own rainwater, the boy scouts are selling rain barrels for $65.00.  Samples are available in the breezeway.  To order one contact the scouts directly at 868-6702.
