and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”
(Micah 6:8, New Revised Standard Version)
The Youth and Children’s Ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Garner offers a safe place for children and teenagers to learn and grow in their faith, character, understanding, love, and friendship. Youth Sunday School meets every Sunday morning at 9:45 am, with the lesson starting at 10:00 am.
Children’s Ministry events occur for our friends and families with pre-Kindergarten and elementary school-aged kids once a month, typically from 4:00 to 5:00 pm on a Sunday in the Fellowship hall. The calendar of all youth and children’s events can be found in The Spire and weekly bulletins.
Regular youth group meetings occur on Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30 pm, initially meeting in the Fellowship hall. Once a month, our church family provides dinner at these meetings.
Our “Youth Group” goes far beyond Sunday evening meetings. Through Sunday school, special Saturday events, lock-ins, mission projects, involvement in Church-wide activities, and summer conferences, our youth are able to exercise their faith in a variety of environments. Just as much as our teens are a youth group, they are also a group of friends.
Youth Sunday School and Youth Group are open to all 6th to 12th graders. We are an open environment where questions are encouraged and everyone is invited to be themselves! Meetings are very informal, everyone and anyone is welcome to come as they are and join our discussions!
We are always looking for members of the church to be involved with youth and children’s activities! Even if you have never before been involved with youth group activities, we would love to see you! Opportunities to be involved are printed in the youth section of The Spire every month.
